Teen 50 Program

Teens with a Level 1 Graduated Drivers License (GDL) are required by the State of Michigan to complete 40 hours of daytime driving and 10 hours nighttime driving, for a total of 50 hours. These hours must be logged and completed before attending a Segment 2 Course. 

Sign up today to drive with one of our expert, state-certified, driving instructors! This service will provide students with the additional coaching they need to become confident drivers and parents with peace of mind as they support their new driver.  

Student Eligibility


  • Completed Segment 1 and obtained their Level 1 Graduated Driver License from the Sectary of State.
  • Anyone 18 years or older is ineligible for Teen 50 and can register for our adult driving services.

Segment 1 Completion Next Steps

Once you have completed the requirements for Segment 1 you cannot drive with your green slip!


Go to the Secretary of State with your green slip and the appropriate documents to apply for your Level 1 Graduated Driver License (GDL).


You will need to bring 5 documents :

-Social Security number 

-Original Birth Certificate 

-Segment 1 Slip 

-Your school ID 

-Report cards


SOS 24 Appointments Booking TIPS:

Same-day appointments become available for booking 24 hours in advance. For example: If you need an appointment for 10:20 a.m. Monday, you can start looking for that appointment at 10:20 a.m. Sunday.


Advance appointments can be booked up to 180 days (6 months) ahead of time.


If you can’t find an appointment that meets your time/date needs at a specific branch, try another branch in your area.
